  • MOAA App + Website
A museum app and website that allows users to gather objects through uploaded pictures in order to explain their importance in society. MOAA deals with objects that have been made obsolete that users predict will become obsolete. The app employs forced perspective and theoretical three-dimensional viewing technology via holograms in order to analyze objects from all angles in a museum-like setting. Emphasis on bleakness and sterility through white space for the branding complements the tone of the subject matter.

  • Ragenomics
Using the six levels of Bloom’s Taxonomy and the five AIGA/NASAD essential competencies, this visual evaluation showcases my ability to meet these criteria on projects in the span of three years of my design education. Additionally, I added a third scale of evaluation based on my level of anger for individual projects. This extra quality helps to express my sarcastic nature and ability, or inability, to handle the strenuous day-to-day tasks involved in developing my projects.

  • Afloat: Suicide Prevention
A new envisioned identity for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Afloat was developed to be the most personable non-profit group dealing with suicide. With the former identity being too inconsistent and stagnant with its target audiences, Afloat’s goal is to be more distinguishable amongst similar groups dealing with the subject. Developed with the thought of establishing a well-connected relationship and community to the people it helps and/or educates, Afloat is more than just a suicide prevention group, it’s a mission to maintain balance over a personal crisis.

  • Rustle My Jammies
Packaging for organic sandwich jams geared towards quirky and absurdly humorous young men. Rustle My Jammies caters towards the bold and daring lifestyle through the unorthodox flavors like jalapeño, onion, and bacon. A major focus of the form is the Farm to Fork principle of sustainability as shown through the reusable bottles and the carrying container which can fold out into a one-time use box for a sandwich.

  • Get Out the Vote
The Get Out the Vote poster competition is part of the AIGA’s nonpartisan Design for Democracy program. Its intent is to motivate eligible citizens to vote on election day through a clear call to action. My design targets voter apathy through concentration on negative persuasion through the use of stark, minimal imagery in order to show the viewer that a lack of action leads to the continuation of issues that envelop our nation.

    Awards & Recognition:
One of eight selected to hang as a banner in the Get Out the Vote 2012 Exhibition at the AIGA National Design Center in New York City.

  • DestiNation Magazine
DestiNATION Magazine is for the reader feeling trapped in a 9–5 work week. With little free time for the reader taken into account, the publication focuses its coverage on 2–3 day adventurous retreats. This issue features everything from tips on traveling sustainably to insights on the hidden gems of major cities like Kansas City. As a collaborative project with four classmates, my contributions include a 2-page department spread, a 14-page feature article, two single page advertisements, as well as the cover design.

  • All Checked Out
Literacy rates have continued to be problem for the nation. To help absolve this, the ALA (American Library Association) has implemented literacy education programs within school libraries, yet only 13% of these received the necessary funding and staff to carry these out. Using a unique representation of books, the poster series advocates the need for federally funded literacy education in order to develop early reading skills in children.

  • The Commons at KU
The Commons, a shared gathering space for three partnered groups (Biodiversity Institute, Spencer Museum of Art, and Hall Center for Humanities) within the University of Kansas, discusses large topics that reach multiple disciplines in the college academic setting. Taking the large, open space of the facility into account, the concept of the brand evokes a fluid, approachable unity of multiple forms of intelligent disciplines. It is a meeting point, of ideas and actions.

  • KJHK Fall 2012 Schedule
Every semester the University of Kansas’s student-run radio station, KJHK, holds a design contest to generate a poster for their programming schedule. KJHK is notable for its mission to provide a “sound alternative” to mainstream commercial radio. In order to represent the unique variety of programs the station offers, this poster utilizes a combination of computerized and surreal aesthetic choices to represent a place where extremely different subjects are able to coexist. This poster was selected as the final design and was distributed throughout the university campus, as well as several establishments in downtown Lawrence, Kansas.

  • Groom's Secret Handbook
A redesign of the humor book, The Groom’s Secret Handbook, written by Anthony Marsh and Jay Blumenfield. Loaded with jokes, questionnaires, quizzes and more, the book’s self-help format provides for a comedic journey in guiding the groom-to-be through the various stages leading up to a wedding. Revisions include further distinguishing of the variety of text parts and creating more interactive methods of reader engagement through sections like board games in order to create a livlier, exaggerated style of humor.
